Our first Valentine’s Day together Kyle had to work late and so instead of going out to a fancy restaurant we decided to do our own version of a progressive dinner. We went to each of our favorite take out restaurants for our favorite food items until we had made a whole meal. We even got water from every restaurant so we could see which restaurant had the best water, because I’m kind of a water snob. (If you were wondering Chick-Fil-A had the best water! hahaha) We had such a fun time that it is our new Valentine’s Day tradition, and one of our favorite holidays because of how much fun we have.
This year was no different! We made a plan of where to get each item of food and what the best route would be. We started at Red Robin for our favorite pound of fries and fry sauce! We made our way to Hires Big H for a hamburger and then made a phone call to order some mac n’ cheese from Noodles & Co. Before picking up the mac n’ cheese we stopped to get some chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. Seriously I love that place! We had a small wait with the car in front of us and they gave us a coupon for a free item on our next visit. Our last stop was to Texas Roadhouse to get their famous rolls and butter. After gathering all the food we made our way home. It took us a hour to get all the food and make it back home. It is so much fun driving around together and trying to figure out how to get all the food and keep it warm, that I don’t even care if the food is a little cold! We were joking that if we did this for the food, we would be in two different cars, but we do it for the experience! Actually I was pretty surprised, but we didn’t have any cold food this year! The fries weren’t as hot as they were when we got them, but we didn’t even have to heat them up! haha What a weird thing to think about having to do with your Valentine’s Day food!
Once we were home we ate our food and watched the movie, Valentine’s Day! I love this show and that first year that I showed it to Kyle I was so happy that he enjoyed it too! The food was delicious, the movie was great, and the company was even better! We love coming up with fun and unique traditions for each holiday! I’m so lucky that I found a guy that loves to be silly, random, and fun!
cute! love your tradition!
