This post is sponsored by Brita, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Kyle and I are huge advocates for goals and this year we decided to really push ourselves in the area of health and overall living better lives. One of my goals was to drink at least 2 water bottles each day outside of meals. I’m also very picky about the water I drink, because I can tell the difference in taste (some people think I’m crazy, but can you taste a difference?). So when we first got married, I told Kyle that we needed to buy a water filter. We ended up buying a Brita, and we won’t ever go back. Today I want to share with you why we chose Brita and how I’m living better and healthier with Brita.

Since one of my goals this year is to drink 2 water bottles everyday, water has become a big part of my life.  Drinking water is a great way to increase your health, but did you know that using plastic water bottles is actually hurting our planet?

2,000 plastic water bottles are used every single second in the United States….isn’t that absolutely crazy to think about? Sadly, plastic water bottles take 450 years to decompose and so if we keep going at this rate by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. When I heard these statistics, it really made me start thinking about how I decided to stay healthy by drinking water.

That is why I strongly believe in using a water bottle filled with filtered water from my Brita Longlast Pitcher instead of single-use plastic bottles each year.

Every morning before he leaves for work, Kyle (being the great husband he is) fills up my water bottle with the Brita Longlast Pitcher so that it is ready for me to begin drinking after my shower. This helps me so I’m keeping up on my goal, while continuing to lead a better life for our planet.

Not only is using Brita filtered water instead of plastic bottles healthier for the environment, it’s actually healthier for you too.  It reduces 99% of Mercury, Chlorine, Benzene, and more. It also filters out odors and impurities, which is why I love the taste of it. Plus Brita Longlast pitcher is actually the longest lasting lead removing filter, with filters that last for 6 months at a time.

Now who is with me? I’m ditching those old plastic water bottles I used to reach my health goal of 2 water bottles per day, and using my Brita Longlast Pitcher. Learn more about the filter and find out how to get it here.
