I seriously can’t believe that this title is actually happening right now. It feels like just yesterday we were at the temple waiting to get married for time and all eternity. This past year has flown by and it has been the best year of my life. I know everyone always says that, but I absolutely love being married to Kyle. We have so much fun together and I know there would’ve been no other way I would’ve enjoyed this crazy past year as much as I did without him. (More to come on this past crazy year in a later post!)
Yesterday was our anniversary and honestly we didn’t know what to do. Our big plan is to go to Disney World (which happens in 1 week, YAY!), but since we couldn’t go on our actual anniversary, we had to figure something else out. We decided to go to Park City for the afternoon and ride the Alpine Slide. We ate lunch and then began our long wait in the line. The line ended up moving faster than I thought it would and since we were just hanging out together, it didn’t seem to be too bad. Plus Kyle loves taking lots of random pictures in a row so that took up some of our time. Don’t worry, I won’t post them all….he sometimes goes crazy, but I love it!
There was a wedding happening while we were there and it was fun to think back on how that was what we were doing a year ago from today. The slide was a blast, especially since I hadn’t been there in over 10 years. Kyle kept joking the whole time that we shouldn’t use our brakes and we were going to race each other. I kept joking that I knew I’d fall if I did that and he would tease back about the chances of falling off.
When we finally got up there and began to race, Kyle took off! I was a little hesitant at first because I didn’t want to fly off, but gradually sped up until I was as fast as I figured I could go. It was so much fun. I finally caught up to Kyle and we rode the rest of the way down together. Come to find out, Kyle had fallen off at the beginning and I was so far behind that apparently he had time to get up and start up again by the time I caught up. I’m not sure if that meant he was going WAY too fast or I was definitely going WAY too slow!
After Park City we came home and changed into some nicer clothes. We decided that since it was our one year anniversary, we should go somewhere super nice. We decided on Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. We had been there a few months earlier with KPMG (Kyle’s internship company) and we had LOVED it. There food is incredible and it is super nice, which made us feel even cooler.
We got there and they took us back to our table where they had it decorated with rose petals and a note that said, “Happy Anniversary!” It was cute and reminded me of our hotel the night of our wedding. The food was just as amazing as I remembered it. Besides ordering the best caesar salad that I have ever had, I ordered the stuffed chicken, some sweet potatoes, and au gratin potatoes. Man it was delicious!
Kyle and I were joking about how “rich” it made us feel and how tiring the life of being cool and famous is. That is one thing I love about Kyle, is he is always up to laughing, joking around, and having a good time. We laugh so hard together, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It was such a great anniversary, but I will say I am so excited to go to Disney World! Kyle has never been so that makes me even more excited.
