December was one of the craziest months, so I never got around to writing about November. These posts have been some of my favorites because it helps me to remember what we’ve done each month. So let’s do a quick overview of each month.

NOVEMBER

November started off pretty slow, which was nice. We spent time just hanging out and prepping for the holidays. We went to New York City because I won a trip from Downeast. I was shocked that I had won and the trip was a blast. I’ll be doing a whole New York city travel guide later this month, so stay tuned for that and all the details of what we did. We spent a lot of time relaxing and just enjoying our time together and after a year of traveling and going, going, going, a relaxing trip was amazing.

November we hosted our annual Friendsgiving party. We decided that since it was the day before thanksgiving, we didn’t want to do any typical thanksgiving food like we normally do, so we had a giant Chinese feast and it was amazing. We pigged out on Joy Luck’s Chinese food and it was incredible!

When I first started blogging I told myself I would love to collaborate with Albion Fit and I even pitched them once I reached 5,000 followers because I really wanted to work with them. I loved their products and knew they worked with bloggers. Unfortunately they turned down my offer and I was really bummed. I told myself I’d keep trying, but I was always too scared to reach back out to hear their response. In November, Albion Fit reached out to me and asked if I wanted to work with them. I was soooo excited! I know that sounds so silly, but it was just a great boost and helped me know that I am improving each day and that you should always keep trying to do your best.

We went to Thanksgiving at my parent’s for lunch and then went Black Friday shopping with my extended family (a tradition that started 5 years ago). We went to Kyle’s family the next day and had dinner. I’m grateful that both our families live so close and that we can see them all often.

We went to the BYU vs Utah football game and I was so happy we finally got to a home game this year. We had gone to an away game, but hadn’t made it to a home game. Even better that we won! It was a fun game too. We started off pretty slow and not looking very good and the BYU fans I was sitting next to didn’t make me feel very good about the situation. I knew if we started to play our game, we could make it work and….we did! YAY!

DECEMBER

My favorite month of the year! I love December because it’s my birthday, it’s Christmas, and Kyle and I both get a 2 week break from work! (WAHOO!)

We started the month off with a Christmas party with my high school friends. We made gingerbread houses and hung out while catching up. I love that we all get together every Christmas still even though we graduated 8 years ago. Normally I don’t do much with gingerbread houses, but this time I really got into it and I was pretty impressed with how it turned out! ha

Our friends in the neighborhood asked if we would take some family photos for them at the capitol building because their kids love Kyle and I. I’m no photographer by any means, but I was so happy with how they turned out! They took a few for us, and I had made plans to make Christmas cards, and then never got around to it. Oh well, I guess there is always next year.

For my birthday I had to work, but luckily I love my job and the kids were funny when my sister told me it was my birthday. They loved it! We then went to dinner and then met up with our friends to go to the lights on Temple Square. It was a good day!

We had a week full of piano recitals, which is always stressful, but it was so fun to see how well the students did! I’m so proud of how well my music studio is doing and I love that this can actually be my job!

Lexi got spayed right before Christmas and the day she got home after surgery was so sad. She was so hurt and just worn out. She just wanted to cuddle Kyle and be held. It was adorable. I was so worried she would be a different dog after surgery, because I’ve heard that happen to other dogs, but now that she is better she is the same happy and crazy little girl we love.

Christmas was a blast! We spent time in the morning with my family and then the afternoon with Kyle’s family. We then spent the evening after 8 pm at home with each other opening gifts and spending time together. The entire Christmas break was exactly what we needed. I’m not excited for busy season with Kyle’s work over the next few months, so having the time off together was wonderful.

It’s crazy to think that 2018 is over! I loved this past year. It was full of crazy adventures in Disneyland, lots of traveling, and full of saying YES to so many fun adventures. I’ve never had a year where I focused so much on doing what I wanted to do and it was great. I’ll be talking more about my focus for the upcoming year in another post so stay tuned! Here’s to 2019!
