Modern Baby Boy Nursery Inspiration
It was so fun creating this modern baby boy nursery. It’s also great for a gender neutral nursery if you are looking to go that route as well. It took me awhile to find the perfect items for this nursery, but I’m so happy with how it turned out and how each piece has such a special meaning. Let’s get to all the details and links for this modern baby boy nursery inspiration.

CRIB AREA

I love how beautiful this crib is. I loved the closed back and the details. I went with this rust colored mattress cover and I love how it brings some color into the room. I added some neutral pillows as decoration along with this rainbow blanket. The rug is placed right in front of the crib and I thought the colors worked perfectly with all the other items in the room and I loved that it was the alphabet.
BACK WALL AND WALLPAPER

We did a board and batten on the back wall to add some extra details and allow us to not have to spend so much money on the wallpaper. We went with this wallpaper for the upper third of the wall and added this “Welcome To My Crib” sign above the crib to break up all the white. The sign is from Hobby Lobby and I couldn’t link it, but check in store or I linked a similar one below.
READING AREA

This nursery chair is one of my favorite items! It is extremely comfortable and was affordable for all the features and ratings it had. I highly recommend it! Above the chair we added this adorable nursery mobile from Wool and Pine. On the wall we added some spice racks from Ikea to hold the nursery books for easy access. I also have a large basket next to the chair for bigger books that don’t fit in the bookshelves.
WINDOW AREA

These blackout curtains work great and were a great way to add some color to the room. Next to the window I added this family photo of Christ holding the twin baby boy we lost during pregnancy. You can find these on Etsy. I also added a fake plant next to a basket we put his stuffed animals in. On the other side of the window we have an accordion hanger for his hats.
DRESSER and CHANGING AREA

I’ve seen this Ikea dresser all over Pinterest and I loved it. I tried to get it for my second kid because I love it so much, but it was out of stock when I needed it. I highly recommend it! It fits so many items and I use these dividers and these organizers to keep everything in it’s place and easy to find. On top of the dresser we placed our changing pad (with a changing pad cover that matches the crib mattress) and diapers for easy access. We also have our humidifier and sound machine (which is one of my favorite baby items). To decorate the wall above the dresser I added a round mirror next to the Ikea wall shelves. On the shelves I decorated with items that were special to our family. His name starts with a B because he was the baby B twin that survived and the entire pregnancy we called him “B”. Our family loves sports and I liked that the basketball matched the other decor and added more color to the room. We are big Disney fans and when I found this “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” sign with clouds, it felt like a symbol between him and his twin who passed away. We added a Mickey Mouse, plant, and a photo of the twins on an ultrasound to complete the look.

I love how this room turned out and it’s quickly became my favorite room in the house. It’s so fun to sit here with my baby and start my motherhood journey.
